Getting faster treatment for a brain bleed: what causes the delays?

A Monash Health review of 209 brain-bleed patients found only about 1 in 4 reached the target blood pressure within the recommended hour. Higher arrival BP, waits for an ED bed and not being on a Code Stroke pathway were the main causes of delay — the case for a dedicated “Code ICH” system.

Reading residual blood flow in a blocked brain artery from a routine CT scan

During a stroke, whether a little blood still flows forward past a clot in the brain's main artery affects recovery. This study tested whether automated vascular territory mapping software can flag that residual forward flow from a standard CT perfusion scan.
